Paperflite is a platform for sales and marketing teams to create, share, and track content with their customers and prospects. To ensure that content tracking is as accurate and reliable as possible, Paperflite has now included a feature that has the ability to have unique sessions excluded from analytics, which helps to recognize and manage clicks on the content shared.

When a collection or an asset is sent through Paperflite, the platform tracks the analytics on the engagement. However, in some cases, this tracking can be affected by bots or other automated systems that click on content links, potentially skewing the tracking data.

To address this issue, Paperflite's new feature identifies and removes clicks from known IP addresses, ensuring that content tracking data is as accurate and relevant as possible. Additionally, it also gives users the ability to manually exclude sessions from the data being tracked, based on their individual preferences and needs. For example, if a user wants to exclude sessions from their tracking data, they can do so by selecting the "Exclude" option in their Paperflite account. Alternatively, if they want to include/retain sessions, they can also choose to do so, allowing them to see a complete picture of how their content is being consumed and engaged with.

Overall, Paperflite's excluding session feature provides users with greater control over their content tracking data, helping to ensure that they have a clear and accurate understanding of how their content is being received by their customers and prospects.

Here’s how you can exclude or re-include sessions manually on Paperflite:

Excluding/Including IPs manually

Excluding session:

The recipient activities can be manually excluded from Conversations when you don’t want to track a particular visitor’s sessions. For example, your own IP or a particular recipient’s IP.

Here’s how you can exclude a session:

> Head to the conversation that you would like to exclude the session for and Click on Recipient activities.

> Hover over the activity (device details, browser, etc.), and you’ll see the Exclude session option.

> Once you click on the exclude session option, a slider will pop up. Upon confirmation, the session will get grayed out, marking it as an excluded session.

Note: Any session blocked manually for a particular device and browser, will not get recorded for any future shares and will be removed from any past shares post-blocking for the entire account.

Where does the exclusion of a session reflect?

Below are the touchpoints where the analytics change would reflect:

  • Conversations: Click rate, time spent - When you have a conversation with a recipient and they interact with content that you have shared with them, the click rate, time spent and open rate will be automatically updated if you exclude their IP session.

  • Reports: The Engagement tab, will not have the excluded sessions data.

  • Distribution Lists: If a session is removed under a particular contact’s activity, all analytics for that session will get removed.

  • Asset analytics - In a particular asset, under the Analytics tab, the Audience view will reflect according to the exclusion of the sessions.

  • Daily Digest Mailer: The daily digest email will get calculated and sent based on the analytics in your conversations, essentially not adding the excluded sessions.

Including a session previously Excluded

After excluding a session, if a user re-includes the session that was manually excluded, the analytics will automatically get updated for that user’s session again to the respective touchpoints.

Here’s how you can reinclude an excluded session:

> Head to the conversation that you would like to include the session for and Click on Recipient activities.

> Hover over the activity (device details, browser, etc.), and you’ll see the Include session option.

> Once you click on the include session option, a slider will pop up. Upon confirmation, the session will be visible again.

Once confirmed, refresh the window for the overall analytics to reflect on your Conversation.

*Important*

All the sessions manually excluded/included will reflect on the entire account.

Automatic Exclusion:

In essence, automatic session exclusion involves excluding sessions in which the sender is also the recipient. In this case, either;

  • The sender itself opens the emails, or

  • You reopen the content for checking/validating.
