Why rebuild the same Deal Room for every deal?

Deal Room Templates let you reuse proven deal structures—saving time and ensuring consistency across teams.

In this article, you'll learn about:

  • What Deal Room Templates are

  • Who can create templates

  • What gets copied when you clone a template

What are Deal Room Templates?

Deal Room Templates allow admins to save a Deal Room structure and reuse it for future deals.

Instead of starting from scratch, teams can clone a template and jump straight into execution.

Who can mark a Deal Room as a template?

To mark a Deal Room as a template, a user must:

  • Be a Deal Owner or Internal Stakeholder with Edit access

  • Have the Administrator role

What Happens When You Mark a Deal Room as a Template?

When a Deal Room is marked as a template:

  • The entire Deal Room remains exactly as it is

  • Existing stakeholders remain added

  • Existing content remains intact

  • The full Mutual Action Plan (MAP) remains intact

  • All attachments and configurations remain unchanged

Nothing is removed.

The complete Deal Room - including stakeholders, content, MAP, progress, and structure is marked as a template.

How templates work

When a Deal Room is marked as a template:

  • It appears under the Templates section

  • All users can view it in view-only mode

To use a template:

  • Users must clone it

  • Cloning creates a fresh Deal Room copy

What gets copied when you clone a template?

Copied:

  • Banner

  • Logo

  • Description

  • Stages

  • Action items

Not copied:

  • Assigned stakeholders

  • Due dates

  • Completion status

  • Attached documents

This ensures every new deal starts clean while still benefiting from a proven structure.

Why use Deal Room Templates?

Templates help you:

  • Standardize deal execution

  • Reduce setup time

  • Scale best-practice workflows across teams
